Boating Safety 4 Kids at West Islip Library

Students in grades 1 thru 6 can enjoy a day of learning water skills with fun activities and games at the West Islip Library this summer.

The Boating Safety 4 Kids program is being offered by America’s Boating Club Great South Bay Power Squadron on Monday, July 16, 2018. The program will take place from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the West Islip Public Library, located at 3 Higbie Lane in West Islip.

There will be fun stations each with different boating-related activities to teach children important boating safety basics.

“Safety at its best starts with saying yes to the vest,” said Marie A. Wallach, Squadron Educational Officer of the Great South Bay Power Squadron.

Certificates will be presented to all participants at the end of the program. Goodie bags and snacks provided by the West Islip Library.

Note: There is a limit of 75 students and pre-registration is required. Parents will be required to sign a permission slip when dropping children off. Registration forms can be found at www.boatgsb.org.

The United States Power Squadrons and America’s Boating Club is a non-profit organization of boating enthusiasts who have a common interest and appreciation of recreational boating, boating safety, and education. As a public service, America’s Boating Club offers and provides Safe Boating Courses. Through these courses, over three million students have already learned how to make their boating safer and more enjoyable.
