Summer family fun in Wading River

The Shoppes at East Wind is gearing up to kick off its second annual Live at The Shoppes summer entertainment series, beginning July 11 and running weekly through August 15. The event is sponsored by People’s United Bank and The Shoppes.

The concerts begin at 6 p.m. every Wednesday and are free and open to the public. The opening show on July 11 will feature Lena and the Happy Clam Band performing their award-winning children’s music.

“We are excited to partner with East Wind for the second consecutive year on their upcoming Summer family events series,” said Jennifer Fasano, vice president and market manager at People’s United Bank. “This is a reflection of our continued commitment to communities across Long Island.”

The series will take place under the gazebo in the courtyard at The Shoppes at East Wind. Attendees are encouraged bring their own chairs or blankets and enjoy the evening outdoors. Families will enjoy the live music and entertainment, including a magic show and carousel.

“The entertainment is superb and there is something for everyone,” said Mona Rossero of The Crushed Olive, a local gourmet olive oil retailer. “The carousel, Brezza’s Pizza, Tweet’s Ice Cream Shop, as well as all the other family-owned shops complete the picture for a laid back, entertaining night.”
