East Patchogue street named in honor of 9/11 first responder

A portion of Martha Avenue in East Patchogue was officially dedicated as “Mark W. Gajewski Way” on Saturday, Aug. 17.

Gajewski was a first responder during September 11 who selflessly spent nine months helping the cleanup efforts at Ground Zero. He died on Dec. 11, 2017 after battling lung cancer related to the debris at the site.
