Shop small businesses for a good cause

LIFTUP (Long Island Females To Unite Professionally) is hosting its third annual Vendor Night this week to benefit Momma’s House, the Wyandanch-based nonprofit that provides housing and support services to young mothers and their children.

LIFTUP’s Vendor Night brings together women-owned small businesses and provides an opportunity for Long Islanders to shop local for a good cause. A portion of the proceeds from the Thursday, Nov. 21 event will be donated to Momma’s House for the third consecutive year.

After two successful years, the ladies are setting up shop in their biggest venue yet — The Main Event in Farmingdale. The market will be open from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is free for the public to attend. Shoppers can also donate gift cards, toiletries and other essentials for Momma’s House on-site.

LIFTUP is a networking group for women to promote professional growth and support female entrepreneurs. The group meets once a month.
