Church group heading gift drive for seniors in need
A Senior Secret Santa Drive is being held at Roosevelt Field next week to benefit Long Island seniors in need.
Organized by the Young Mission Leaders program of the First Presbyterian Church, the effort is asking for gifts to be donated for local seniors who may be indigent, displaced, mentally ill, sick and shut-in or financially challenged.
All day Saturday, Dec. 14, shoppers are asked to come to the mall’s North Court to pick a tag ornament from the tree to learn more about a senior in need and then donate or bring a secret Santa gift to them.
The donated gift or in-kind donation returned with the tag will be placed in the gift box for delivery and hopefully bring some joy to a deserving senior.
