Long Island Sports Zone donates a ton of food
Long Island Sports Zone, an indoor baseball and softball training facility in Bohemia, raised 2,200 pounds of food during a December food drive for Long Island Cares.
More than 200 people took part in the sports facility’s fifth annual Hitting For Hunger campaign, collecting food for Long Island families in need and contributing to the nonprofit’s fight against hunger.
Long Island Cares provides food and support services for more than 580 community agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, child care programs and more.
