Douglas Elliman raises $65K for cancer fight
The Long Island division of Douglas Elliman Real Estate announced it raised more than $65,000 from its annual holiday fundraiser and auction last month, donating the money to the American Cancer Society.
This was the 11th consecutive year that the residential brokerage firm held a holiday season fundraising effort to assist in the fight against cancer.
“The holiday fundraiser was a huge success, not only in donations, but in the true spirit of giving and family that was on full display,” said Ann Conroy, president of Douglas Elliman Long Island, in a company statement. “Our managers and agents volunteered countless hours to making this a huge success.”
Marie Cimaglia, director of community development for the American Cancer Society, said Douglas Elliman has been a steadfast supporter of her organization for many years.
“The donated funds will be used to aid those who are affected by cancer, here on Long Island and across the region,” Cimaglia said in the statement. “The dollars raised by Douglas Elliman enable us to be there for people who are touched by cancer on Long Island and beyond, whether they’re currently dealing with a diagnosis, may face one in the future, or will avoid it altogether because of risk reduction efforts.”
Douglas Elliman Long Island and its 26 offices across Nassau and Suffolk counties support a number of local and national organizations and causes, including the American Cancer Society, Northwell Health, Gods Love We Deliver, Breast Cancer Research, Long Island Cares, Warm Up, and Adopt-A-Family, among others.
