Brookhaven waives pet adoption fees for February

The Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is waiving adoption fees next month for some of its adoptable pets as part of its month-long “My Furry Valentine” campaign.

Throughout the month of February, the town will waive adoption fees — normally $137 for dogs and $140 for cats — for pets that have been at the shelter for more than six months. The free adoption includes vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm test and licensing, as well as spaying/neutering services.

The Brookhaven Animal Shelter is located at 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven and is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit the town’s website at BrookhavenNY.gov/AnimalShelter.
