DQ fundraiser helps damaged fire station
The Dairy Queen Chill & Grill in Massapequa donated 25 percent of a recent day’s proceeds to assist the rebuilding of the fire-damaged North Massapequa Fire Department headquarters.
A fire on Christmas morning last year destroyed four pieces of fire equipment and caused substantial damage to the truck bay and building.
The Massapequa DQ is owned and operated by franchisee Laura Maier, who is also an Oyster Bay Town councilwoman. Maier owns other DQ locations in Huntington, Levittown and East Northport.
