Farmingdale store offers free delivery for chocolate molding kits
With Long Island schools temporarily closed and many parents working from home due to the coronavirus, the demand is growing for things to do around the house. But one local retailer has a solution.
The Chocolate Duck in Farmingdale has started selling pre-packaged chocolate-making kits for Long Islanders to try at home.
A chocolate molding kit features two paintbrushes, a bag of 100 sticks and pops, two molds, one pound of milk chocolate and half a pound of colored chocolate, as well as instructions, for $24.95.
A cookie decorating kit includes four different cookie cutters, three packages of fondant, 3 bottles of colored icing and a cookie recipe for $39.95.
Customers can call ahead to customize kits and request specific colors or themes.
There is no delivery fee for orders placed within an 8-mile radius of the Farmingdale store. Christina Bisbee, co-owner of The Chocolate Duck, says customers can also call ahead to arrange for curbside pickup.
