North Fork winery offering free shipping and delivery

Riverhead winery RGNY is offering free shipping and delivery in response to the social distancing measures instituted to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Local customers ordering three or more bottles from RGNY’s selection of wines can get free delivery in the communities of Riverhead, Mattituck, Southold, Greenport, Peconic and Hampton Bays, according to Briana Lapadula, the winery’s marketing director.

“We are also supplementing this with curbside pick-up, if customers feel more comfortable staying in their vehicles,” Lapadula told The Long Island Times.

Located at 6025 Sound Ave. in Riverhead, RGNY normally sees about 400 visitors on an average spring weekend, though the new virus protocols will likely cut down that number. The winery remains open, however, as it qualifies as an essential business under Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s orders.

In addition, RGNY is providing free shipping to all of New York State from its website. Two of its most popular wines are its Scielo Rose and RG White Merlot, Lapadula says.

The RGNY winery and vineyards were formerly known as Martha Clara before the Rivero-Gonzalez family purchased the 205-acre property from the Entenmann family in 2018.
