Suffolk cops come clean by shopping local
The Suffolk County Police Benevolent Association bought 80 cases of hand sanitizer from Baiting Hollow distillery Long Island Spirits to be distributed to more than 1,000 Suffolk officers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.
Lou Civello, second vice president of the Suffolk PBA, joined with Master Distiller Richard Stabile to pick up the cases of spirits-turned-sanitizer.
The initiative, according to a Suffolk PBA statement, was launched to protect officers using local businesses who employ Long Islanders during this time of unprecedented economic hardship.
