Drive-in services extended at East Hampton beach

After a successful drive-in Shabbat service last week, the Jewish Center of the Hamptons announced it will continue the services all summer long.

Last Friday’s service, held in the parking lot at Main Beach in East Hampton, was attended by about 40 cars. Rabbi Josh Franklin and Cantor/Rabbi Debra Stein led services with microphones and guitars from the back of two trucks, as attendees listened through their vehicle’s FM radios.

The drive-in Shabbat services will be held at 6 p.m. every Friday through Labor Day at Lot 2 at Main Beach.
