Panera’s Pink Ribbon Bagel campaign returns in October

Panera Bread has announced the return of its annual Pink Ribbon Bagel fundraising campaign, to raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Shaped in the form of a pink ribbon and baked fresh each morning, the limited edition cherry-vanilla bagel features a combination of cherry chips, dried cherries and cranberries, vanilla, honey and brown sugar.

Panera Bread will donate a portion of the proceeds from its Pink Ribbon Bagel to the American Cancer Society. Additionally, on Friday, Oct. 9, Panera Bread will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from sales of its Pink Ribbon Bagel to the cause.

“We take great pride in the continued success of this important initiative year after year and appreciate the ongoing support of customers through their support and contributions,” Greg George, vice president of operations for quick casual and specialty concepts for Panera franchisee Doherty Enterprises, said in a company statement. “We encourage our guests to enjoy this limited-time bakery item throughout October to help support a cause near and dear to our hearts.”

The Pink Ribbon Bagel Fundraiser is available at 41 Panera Bread locations owned and operated by Doherty Enterprises on Long Island and Staten Island and in Queens and Brooklyn.
