Ocean Financial launches Thanksgiving food drive

Ocean Financial Federal Credit Union has launched its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

The credit union’s branches in Oceanside and Seaford will be collecting donations through Nov. 20 and the food will be delivered to local parish food pantries within the Diocese of Rockville Centre in time for Thanksgiving.

As part of the drive, OFFCU will accept non-perishable food, household and personal care items, including baby food, shelf-stable milk, canned goods, sponges, garbage bags, baby products, paper products and plastic utensils. Travel-sized items such as soap, shampoo and deodorant are also needed.

“We have always had a vested interest in the health and welfare of our community and the people in it,” Joe Tedesco, president and CEO of Ocean Financial, said in a company statement. “Perhaps more than any other year in recent memory, it’s important that we help those who are less fortunate or who maybe have fallen on hard times in the wake of the pandemic. By lifting up those who need it, we elevate everyone.”
