Nassau Coliseum to host Toys for Tots collection

A drive-thru event at Nassau Coliseum next month aims to collect thousands of donated toys in one of the country’s largest Toys for Tots efforts.

Founded by Joe LaPadula and Jon Holzer of Glen Cove-based Martino Auto Concepts 10 years ago, the annual massive toy collection will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6 in the Coliseum’s parking lot.

Last year’s event yielded more than 55,000 contributions toward Toys for Tots Long Island’s annual mission, spearheaded by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, to distribute hundreds of thousands of toys to deserving children in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
