Dredging completed at North Sea beach project

A Suffolk County dredge has finished dredging at a beach replenishment project in North Sea.

Payloaders will continue to rebuild the beach through the end of the year to complete the $340,000 project that will place up to 15,000 cubic yards of sand in front of waterfront properties.

The North Sea Beach Colony Beach Erosion Control District is a community of 62 properties at the end of North Sea Road and fronting Little Peconic Bay in the hamlet of North Sea.

Once completed, the project will help stabilize the beach and mitigate storm erosion.
