Time for some paws in Baldwin

A new dog park in Baldwin was unveiled this week by Town of Hempstead officials.

Located in Baldwin Park at 3232 Grand Ave., the 60 feet by 110 feet dog park is divided into separate sections for small and large dogs. The park has a grass surface and features two dog water fountains, four benches and three dog waste containers.

All dog park visitors are required to wear masks and follow proper social distancing.

The Baldwin dog park is the second the town has opened recently, following one at Newbridge Road Park in Bellmore. Officials plan to open a third dog park in Oceanside Park as early as next week, and plans are being drawn up for a fourth site in Levittown.
