Docs rock in hospital fundraiser

A band of medical staff from Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital were the stars of a fundraiser last week at the North Fork Road House in Mattituck.

The music group called POC played classic rock hits during the event that also featured raffles and BBQ to benefit the Greenport hospital.

POC is made up of Dr. Larry Schiff, Dr. Ryan Zapata, John Fazio, CRNA and Alex Abramowicz, LMSW, all members of the staff at SBELIH.

“It is always an honor for the band and I to play our music to a receptive audience,” Schiff said in a written statement. “It helps fundraising for the hospital, it helps bridge the gap for the hospital and local communities, but most importantly, it was amazingly fun and we loved it.”
