Vanderbilt offers personalized bricks to support museum

The Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport is once again offering personalized bricks to help raise money for its operations.

The bricks can be inscribed with up to three lines of 14 characters each to honor someone’s memory, celebrate an important event or mark a birthday or anniversary.

A single inscribed brick costs $125, two bricks are sold for $225 and three bricks can be had for $300.

“The Memorial Brick Program is a thoughtful way to honor loved ones or to celebrate special events like weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries,” Elizabeth Wayland-Morgan, executive director of the Vanderbilt, said in a museum statement. “We’ll incorporate your personalized brick into the walkway you choose on the estate’s grounds. Your brick is a way to be part of Vanderbilt and Gold Coast history – and a lasting symbol of your support.”

All proceeds help fund the museum’s efforts to preserve and disseminate the history of the Long Island landmark, which this year celebrates its 71st anniversary.
