Chili Cook-Off brings the heat this month

There’s going to be a hot time in Ronkonkoma later this month.

The Association for Mental Health and Wellness is hosting its 11th Annual Chili Cook-Off & Pop-Up Restaurant on Saturday, Oct. 16 at its headquarters at 939 Johnson Ave.

Chili lovers will enjoy both meat-based and vegan chili selections by reserving their table at one of two seatings, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Parties of two to 10 people can reserve a spot along with a complimentary chili flight of three tastings for each person. 

The menu will feature additional orders of chili along with corn on the cob, cornbread, desserts and beverages available for purchase.

The event will also feature live music and an array of raffle prizes that include products, services and experiences. For every reservation, a vote is cast for a favorite chili, with an award ceremony held at 5 p.m.
