Students organize DVD drive for Northport VA
The Northport Middle School National Junior Honor Society organized a DVD drive for the residents at the Northport VA.
Patients at the Northport VA had been given DVD players, but they didn’t have many DVDs to watch, so honor society advisors Cheryl Gavin and Christine Carroll went into action.
After members of the Northport community donated more than 300 DVDs to the drive, the National Junior Honor Society students boxed up the DVDs and loaded them into cars. The advisors delivered them to a recreational therapist at the Northport VA last week.
“The students enjoyed putting together the DVDs and are excited to know that they have now provided a source of enjoyment for the residents who are unable to get out and about due to COVID restrictions,” Gavin said in a school statement.
