Earth Day cleanup to be held in Riverhead

The Town of Riverhead Litter Committee is seeking volunteers to join its town-wide cleanup event to coincide with Earth Day.

This year’s cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Volunteers can pick up gloves, pickers and bags at Riverhead Town Hall and register for a location they would like to clean up. But to reduce costs, the committee is asking volunteers to bring their own garbage bags and disposable gloves if possible. 

Last spring, about 200 volunteers removed litter and trash from 35 streets, parks and beaches in Riverhead.
