Arts Council hosting Arty Party fundraiser in Freeport

The Long Island Arts Council at Freeport will hold an Arty Party fundraiser on the Nautical Mile next month.

The event takes place from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 at The Bayview at 395 Woodcleft Ave. in Freeport.

Arty Party will feature a performance by Freeport High School Select Chorale, “art immersion fun” and raffles to win gift cards and merchandise.

Several friends of the arts will be honored at the event, including Lila Diringer, who’ll receive the Arty Award; Ken Dookram getting the Business Person of the Year Award; Vashti Burke, who’ll get the Educator of the Year Award; Bella Noche, receiving the Alexander Schanzer Memorial Smart With Art Award; and Steven Schier, who will be honored in memoriam.
