Colonial history comes to life at the Islip Grange
The Town of Islip will host its Living History Day at the Islip Grange next weekend.
The family friendly event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the Islip Grange Park on Broadway Avenue in Sayville.
The event will feature demonstrations of colonial cookery and military drills, walking tours of the Islip Grange, a mock town meeting using town historical records, and a lesson on how to research your home’s history. Groups participating include local historical societies, reenactment groups, the Montaukett Nation, the Bayport Aerodrome, and the Islip Town Clerk and Historian’s offices.
