Roosevelt Field hosts Girls Inc. of Long Island

The Roosevelt Field mall in Garden City hosted a Girls Inc. Takeover on Saturday afternoon.

Middle school and high school girls were invited for free interactive workshops on achieving confidence, fashion styling and more.

Featured at the event were a fashion stylist from Macy’s, hair tinsels and decorative braiding from the JCPenney Salon, a selfie station from The Floral Escape, donut decorating from Doughnuttery, and raffle prizes.

Founded in 2005, Girls Inc. of Long Island is an affiliate of the nationally recognized Girls Incorporated, a nonprofit organization with roots dating back to 1894. The mission of Girls Inc. of Long Island is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold and the group provides school and community based programming that serves the unique needs of girls, ages 5-18, living in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
