Free concert stars Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will perform a free concert at Eisenhower Park later this month.

The show, sponsored by Jovia Financial Credit Union, will be presented at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 30 at the park’s Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre.

There will be a special VIP area for veterans, doctors and first responders with valid ID on a first-come, first-served basis, as space is limited.

“We’re happy to be playing for all the hometown fans in a place that helped start it all for the Blackhearts,”Jett, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist, said in a written statement.
