Improvements unveiled at Gibson LIRR station
Officials from the Village of Valley Stream were joined by local business leaders and members of the Nassau County Police Department last week to commemorate improvements at the Gibson Long Island Rail Road station.
The improvements included new landscaping and renovations to the Nassau County Police booth at the train station.
The project, funded through a grant from PSEG Long Island’s Chamber of Commerce Main Street Revitalization Program, was a joint effort by the village, PSEG Long Island, Vision Long Island, the Nassau County Police Department and the Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce.
Thanks to the project, the LIRR station, at the newly improved intersection of Gibson Boulevard and Munro Boulevard, has a fresh look.
“We know that residential and business and transportation junctures are the beating heart of any community, especially Valley Stream and especially here in Gibson,” said Valley Stream Mayor Edwin Fare.
