Lidl celebrates grand opening in Commack

Lidl, the fast-growing discount grocery chain, celebrated its new store in Commack with a grand opening event.

The new 30,000-square-foot supermarket is located in the Mayfair Shopping Center at 210 East Jericho Turnpike.

The first 100 customers in line at the August 31 ribbon received gift cards ranging from $5 to $100 each. Many shoppers also entered to win a $500 Lidl gift card, and took advantage of special giveaways.

As part of the celebration, Lidl also donated $1 to Long Island Cares for every new myLidl member who signed up and set Lidl Commack as their home store.
