Town plans Foodie Week to showcase restaurants
Restaurants in the Town of Oyster Bay are being invited to participate in Foodie Week next month.
The week-long event, scheduled to run from Sunday, Oct. 16 through Sunday, Oct. 23, will highlight the culinary creations that local chefs, bakers, and artisans have to offer, according to a town statement.
A panel of Long Island food critics will curate all participating restaurants and evaluate them to help ensure that restaurants are of a similar caliber. While there is no charge for dining establishments located in the town to participate, restaurateurs must apply online at: www.FoodieWeek.com. A full list of participating venues and events will also be listed on that website.
The town has also expanded outdoor dining through 2023 to assist the food service industry. A recent study indicated that 51 percent of adults have said they are not dining out at restaurants as often as they would like, which is more than before the pandemic, according to the statement.
