Whaling Museum hosts Bedlam Street Bash fundraiser

The Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum & Education Center is hosting its Bedlam Street Bash fundraiser next week.

The event, slated for 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, features tastings from local restaurants and rum cocktails.

Guests can also try their hand at scrimshaw, listen to sea shanties, take part in a scavenger hunt and immerse themselves in the history of the former whaling village.

Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor was known as Bedlam Street in the 1800s, when crews from whaling ships would party for days before going back out to sea.

Bedlam Street Bash sponsors include the Sandbar, Harbor Mist, Sweetie Pies, Grasso’s, the Cold Spring Plaza Delicatessen and Bottles and Cases.

Advanced tickets for the event are $40 and $20 for museum members.
