Long Beach Polar Bears hitting the water for Super Bowl Splash

The Long Beach Polar Bears are once again gearing up for their annual Super Bowl Splash.

The event is a fundraiser supporting Make-A-Wish of Metro New York and honors the memory of Paulie Bradley, who passed away at 4 years old before he could receive his wish.

This year, the Super Bowl Splash is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 12 where Riverside Boulevard meets the sand in Long Beach. The festivities begin at noon with the ocean splash at 1:30 p.m.

So far this year’s event has raised a little more than 25 percent of the Polar Bears $500,000 goal. Since 2000, the Polar Bears have raised more than $8 million to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
