Exploring the Human Spirit at Hofstra
The American Chamber Ensemble will perform “Exploring the Human Spirit” at Hofstra University’s Helene Fortunoff Theater.
The concert, scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, is a tribute to clarinet virtuoso Stanley Drucker and Herbert Deutsch, former professor and chairman of Hofstra’s music department, who was the co-developer of the Moog synthesizer.
Performing at the show will be pianist Marilyn Lehman, clarinetist Mindy Dragovich, cellist Chris Finckel, viola player Lois Martin, violinists Eriko Sato and Deborah Wong, percussionist James Dragovich and soprano Tammy Hensrud. They will present works by composers Haydn, Gershwin, Clara and Robert Schumann and others.
American Chamber Ensemble’s concert season is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts and by individual contributions.
