St. Patrick’s parade season kicks off on Long Island

About 1,000 people attended the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Kings Park, the first of many local parades to come on Long Island this month.

The Kings Park event, on Saturday March 4, featured several bagpipe bands, community groups and first responders, marching up Pulaski Road and Main Street to the delight of kids and families lined up along the route.

The following day, there were St. Patrick Day parades in Bethpage, Mineola and East Islip.

On Saturday, March 11, there are St. Patrick Day parades scheduled for New Hyde Park, Westhampton Beach, St. James, Bay Shore and Cutchogue. Five more parades are slated for Sunday, March 12, including those in Bayport/Blue Point, Miller Place, Farmingdale, Center Moriches and Huntington.

For Saturday, March 18, St. Patrick’s parades are scheduled to take place in Hampton Bays and Brentwood. On Sunday, March 19, Patchogue, Glen Cove, Babylon and Wantagh will hold their St. Patrick’s parades.

The last weekend of the month will see parades on Saturday, March 25 in Lindenhurst, Rockville Centre and Jamesport. Completing the Long Island schedule will be parades on Sunday, March 26 in Montauk and Ronkonkoma.
