Coltrane Home presenting Camille Thurman for Women’s History Month

The John & Alice Coltrane Home will present a show featuring Camille Thurman, an internationally known composer, saxophonist and vocalist, in celebration of Women’s History Month.

The performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, March 24 at the Half Hollow Hills Community Library Auditorium in Dix Hills. Though admission to the show is free, donations to the John & Alice Coltrane Home are welcomed.

Thurman has toured throughout the world with the renowned Jazz At Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis as a saxophonist, becoming the first woman in 30 years to tour and perform full time.

The nonprofit John and Alice Coltrane Home preserves and promotes the artistic and spiritual legacy of the Coltranes through the ongoing restoration of the couples’ former house in Dix Hills and the creation of an educational workshop series serving all ages.
