Kure for Kate fundraiser at Mulcahy’s Pub

A fundraising event for Kate O’Halloran will be held at Mulcahy’s Pub in Wantagh next week.

The fundraiser which features a buffet, open bar, raffles and auction, takes place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 29.

In December, the 17-year-old O’Halloran was diagnosed with pleuropulmonary blastoma, a very rare type of cancer with characteristics of rhabdoysarcoma. She is only the 10th child in the world with this type of presentation. Kate is currently undergoing multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatment for her cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering.

The event is organized by the John Theissen Children’s Foundation and supported by Pink Tie Charities, 1st Equity Title and Chocolate Works in Plainview.
