“Iron Resurrection” stars to highlight project at Point Lookout car show
The stars of the “Iron Resurrection” TV series will be showcasing one of their custom projects at the upcoming Town of Hempstead Car Show in Point Lookout.
Joe Martin and his wife Amanda, who own and operate Martin Bros. Customs in Johnson City, Texas, are also the stars of “Iron Resurrection,” a show on the Motor Trend network where Joe Martin leads a team of custom car builders.
The Martins will be at Town Park in Point Lookout for the big car show to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1. They will showcase one of their award-winning projects, a restored 1965 Buick Riviera owned by Long Island caterer and restaurateur Butch Yamali. Yamali heads Freeport-based Dover Group, which operates many area restaurants and venues, including the Milleridge Inn, the Coral House, Maliblu, Peter’s Clam Bar and many more.
Yamali appeared on “Iron Resurrection” in Dec. 2022 after he had commissioned Martin Bros. Customs to work on the Riviera. The car has since been showcased at car shows and was a finalist at the 2023 Spring Nationals in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Town of Hempstead Car Show is open to all makes, models, and years. There is a $25 fee for car owners who want to exhibit their rides. The event will also feature live music, kid-friendly obstacle courses and activities, vendors, and more.
