“The Wizard of Oz” opens at Northport’s Engeman Theater

A lively musical production of “The Wizard of Oz” opens this week at the John W. Engeman Theater in Northport.

Part of the Youth Theater Series sponsored by Bethpage Federal Credit Union, “The Wizard of Oz” runs from Saturday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 29.

Kids are sure to be enthralled with the classic tuneful tale of Dorothy as a tornado whisks her away to the land of Oz. There she teams up with the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodsman and Cowardly Lion and heads down the fabled Yellow Brick Road to find the Wizard. Rounding out the ensemble are Rebecca Goldfarb, Jillian Sharpe and Evan Shultz.

“The Wizard of Oz” is directed by Danny Meglio, assisted by Shultz, and the musical director is Lacey Cornell.
