Scrap metal firm assists electronic waste drive at Mineola school

Two Brothers Scrap Metal participated in Mineola Middle School’s eWaste Drive for the seventh straight year.

This year’s drive brought in 6,280 pounds of electronic waste, a significant increase compared to the 4,240 pounds collected the previous year.

The purpose of the drive was to help the environment, by providing the community with a responsible means to dispose of their outdated or non-functional electronic devices. By diverting these electronics from landfills, Mineola Middle School and Two Brothers Scrap Metal are actively contributing to the reduction of electronic waste and its harmful impact on the environment.

In the last seven years of its participation, Farmingdale-based Two Brothers has hauled away 52,780 pounds or more than 26 tons of electronic waste.
