Ruff winter? The Long Island Pet Expo is just around the corner
Family Pet Shows brings the Long Island Pet Expo to the Suffolk Federal Credit Union Arena at Suffolk Community College in Brentwood on Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3.
The event will feature dozens of exhibitors and a variety of special attractions, including the “Pet Industry 101” seminar aimed at educating people interested in starting a pet business, as well as Rabbit Hopping, an agility course specially designed for bunnies.
Also featured is the LI Dog Derby, where dogs of any breed under 25 pounds can register to participate in a race for $10. All proceeds from the LI Dog Derby will be donated to a local animal rescue of the winner’s choosing.
An outdoor version of the show, Long Island Pet Expo In the Park, is expected to be held sometime later this year at Tanner Park in Copiague.
Family Pet Shows has been organizing family-friendly pet expos throughout the East Coast for over 25 years, according to their website. Their sponsors include The K9 Shop, The International Cat Association, and Dr. Elsey’s, among others.
The expo is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 3. Tickets are available at the door or online at familypetshows.com.
