Commercial real estate group holds clothing drive

A Long Island commercial real estate group has organized a clothing drive to help a Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office re-entry program.

CIBS W, which is the women’s division of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island, is requesting donations of items for men and women, including dress wear, casual clothes, shoes, pocketbooks and toiletries. 

The donated items will assist those in the START (Sheriff’s Transition and Re-entry Team) Resource Center, which serves to rehabilitate inmates during their incarceration to prepare them for successful re-entry into the community.

“CIBS W’s charitable mission is to give back to the Long Island community, and we feel this was a great charity to partner with,” says Melissa Naeder, CIBS secretary and CIBS W chair.

This is the first clothing drive CIBS-Women has organized for The START Resource Center.

“We wanted to help because we share the START team’s belief that community support will increase the rate of successful reentry and ultimately make a stronger Long Island,” says Julia Lee, philanthropy chair of CIBS W.

Donations will be collected through April 30 at the following companies:
