SCO Family of Services wins Social Impact Award at Long Island Imagine Awards

SCO Family of Services, a human services agency, received the Cerini & Associates Social Impact Award at the 12th Annual Long Island Imagine Awards at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury on Wednesday, May 1.

The award is given to a nonprofit that measures success not just by meeting its mission, but by affecting the surrounding community as well.

SCO’s Madonna Heights location, a 56-acre campus in Dix Hills, was honored with the award in recognition of its comprehensive and trauma-informed approach to caring for women and girls.

“SCO is honored to be recognized among such incredible organizations that enhance the lives of so many on Long Island,” said Suzette Gordon, president and CEO of SCO Family of Services. “This recognition is a testament to the combined efforts, dedication, and commitment of all 3,000 of SCO’s incredible employees to create an inclusive organization that honors our mission of strengthening families and communities. I am so proud of what we have accomplished together on behalf of the 50,000 New Yorkers we serve.”

In addition to winning the Social Impact Awards, SCO Family of Services was one of four finalists in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility (DEIA) category.

The Imagine Awards, created on Long Island in 2012 by Ken Cerini, managing partner of Cerini & Associates, LLP, recognizes outstanding performances in the nonprofit sector. This year, more than 150 nonprofit applications were submitted for consideration in six categories: Arts & Culture; Innovation; Leadership Excellence; Rising Star; Social Impact; and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA).
