Long Island amusement park seeks student scholarship applications

Adventureland’s Helping Hands Foundation is seeking applications for its 2024 Vivian & Tony Gentile Scholarship.

Since its inception in 2016, the foundation has awarded over $250,000 to Long Island students who planned to attend Long Island colleges or universities.

This year, a total of 13 scholarships will be awarded. Five $5,000 scholarships each will be awarded to Long Island high school seniors and current Adventureland employees, to assist them with their tuition at a college or university on Long Island. Three other $5,000 scholarships are to be awarded, including the Island Harvest Scholarship, the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Scholarship, and the Sachem Dental Group Endowment.

The Vivian & Tony Gentile Scholarship was named for the founder of Adventureland, Splish Splash, and Bullwinkle’s (now Boomers), and his wife.

Applications are due by July 5. To apply or find out more, click here.
