New York Islanders youth hockey clinic coming to Oyster Bay

A New York Islanders ‘Learn to Play’ Hockey Clinic is returning to the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center for children ages 5 to 9 in August and September.

Part of the Future Islanders program, the clinic introduces the game of hockey to young children and serves as a transition program for first-time players interested in house leagues.

The sessions will also include special appearances by Isles alumni Arron Asham and Radek Martinek.

“We are pleased to partner with the New York Islanders to offer this exciting clinic for children looking to learn the fundamentals of hockey in a fun environment,” said Oyster Bay Town Councilman Lou Imbroto.

The ‘Learn to Play’ clinic will run on Wednesdays from August 7 through September 25 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. For a registration fee of $295, students will receive full hockey equipment, including jersey, stick, gloves, helmet, shoulder pads, pants, shin guards, equipment bag and more.

Enrollment is limited to 60 participants. Registration is now open and space is limited.
