LI Nets host youth basketball tourney at Jones Beach
The Long Island Nets hosted their 3v3 youth basketball tournament last weekend.
The tournament was held during the G League team’s Hoop Fest Celebration at Jones Beach State Park.
The Long Island Nets’ Hoop Fest Celebration is a one-day event for kids ages 8 to 16. It featured backyard games, a DJ and a meet and greet with LI Nets’ mascot Dale the Eagle.
“This allows us to connect with our partners, connect with the community and just uplift the kids. It gives them something to look forward to in the summertime,” said Wade Richardson, senior manager of Community Relations and Game Presentation for the Long Island Nets. “It’s healthy competition, fun competition, and that’s what we’re all about.”
The winning teams in each age division received gift cards and four complimentary tickets to any Long Island Nets home game during the 2024-25 NBA G League season.
