Long Island teens named BofA 2024 Student Leaders

Bank of America (BofA) selected five Long Island high school students as Student Leaders earlier this month.

Student Leaders is an eight-week paid summer internship that connects students to employment, skills development and service. These community-minded high school seniors are gaining work and leadership experience by working with local nonprofits EAC Network and Island Harvest, while earning competitive wages.

The 2024 Long Island Bank of America Student Leaders and their host organizations are:

Agastya Mittal, Jericho, Jericho High School: EAC Network

Amal Sani, Centereach, Ward Melville High School: Island Harvest

Kalista Lin, Glen Head, North Shore High School: EAC Network

Solomon Ruff, Baldwin, Baldwin Senior High School: EAC Network

Yujin Wu, Great Neck, Great Neck South High School: Island Harvest

“Connecting teens to jobs and equipping them with essential career and leadership skills supports our local workforce and helps promote long-term economic growth,” said Marc Perez, president of Bank of America Long Island. “This year’s Student Leaders are gaining real-world workplace experience and helping local nonprofits provide critical services and resources for our local communities.”

The program recognizes 300 community-focused juniors and seniors from across the U.S. annually. Since 2004, Student Leaders has engaged more than 4,500 students and invested $42 million in more than 500 local nonprofits as a critical part of the BofA’s long-standing effort to build pathways to economic mobility across nearly 100 markets.
