Big crowd expected at annual Commack Day family festival

A record-breaking 2,500 people are expected at the Suffolk Y JCC in Commack on Sunday, October 6, to attend the 5th Annual Commack Day, a family festival that recognizes the vibrant, unified, and strong spirit of the Commack community.

The day will also raise funds to support the brave efforts of the Commack Fire Department, assist the vital operations of the Commack Ambulance Corps and fund scholarships through the Eric Spinato Foundation, honoring the legacy of the late Eric Spinato by supporting aspiring communications students.

“By joining us at Commack Day, you’re not just enjoying a day out with family and friends — you’re also contributing to the well-being and future of our community,” said Dean Spinato, organizer of the event and brother of the late Eric Spinato. “It’s a chance to celebrate, support, and give back in the best way possible.”

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., festival-goers can peruse more than 110 different vendors offering games, live music, food and drinks, bounce houses, Gaga Ball pits, rock wall climbing, photo booths, mini golf, a petting zoo, face painting, axe throwing by NY Axe, a mini circus, and more.

Food and beverages will be offered by Kool Kat Ice Cream, Philly Pretzel Factory, Iron Chef Catering, La Scala, and a variety of other vendors, including zeppoles and funnel cakes from First Class Food Trucks. Twisted Cow Distillery will be serving as the exclusive beer and spirits provider for the festival.

The Suffolk Y JCC is located at 74 Hauppauge Road in Commack. Tickets are $15 at the door ($5 for veterans and first responders), but can be purchased online in advance at www.commackday.com for $10 each. Children under 10 are free.
