Halloween party returning to American Airpower Museum

The American Airpower Museum is set to transform its historic hangar into a spooky spectacle with its annual “Fright Takes Flight” Halloween party later this month.

Scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the event will take place at the museum’s Hangar 3, located at 1230 New Highway in Farmingdale.

In celebration of the Halloween season, the museum will be decorated with dry ice fog, cobwebs, flying bats and surprises lurking around every corner. Visitors will have the chance to see a real World War II Flying Tiger aircraft up close, along with other notable warbirds that have been cleverly transformed to fend off enemy spirits.

Museum volunteers will hand out treats as children go trick-or-treating in the safety of Hangar 3. Families will have the opportunity to tour the Haunted Bomber, a special exhibit that explores eerie stories associated with wartime aviation. Thrill-seekers are invited to test their courage in the Maze of Terror.

In addition to the haunting attractions, the museum is hosting a costume contest for children 12 and under, with a prize awarded to the best-dressed trick-or-treater.

Families can also hop aboard the Travesty Tram for a guided tour around Hangar 3, offering a unique view of the museum’s collection and Halloween decorations.

Admission is available at the door, but guests are encouraged to arrive early, as the popular event draws a large crowd each year.

The price of admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and veterans and $10 for children ages 5 to 12. Active members of the military, guard and reserves may enter for free with ID.
