Long Island Restaurant Week will feature more than 200 eateries

Foodies rejoice. Another Long Island Restaurant Week kicks off this weekend.

The tri-annual event that offers meal deals at dozens of area eateries will be held from Sunday, Oct. 27 through Sunday, Nov. 3.

Each participating restaurant has the option to offer its own unique two-course lunch menu for $24, and/or three-course dinner menu for $29, $39 or $46 every day it is open, except Saturday when it is offered only until 7 p.m. Held every fall, winter and spring, this year’s fall campaign will have more than 200 participating restaurants, according to its organizers.

First started in 2006 as an annual fall event designed to garner positive publicity and additional business for the region’s restaurants, the initiative expanded in 2011 with a spring restaurant week and a winter restaurant week was added in 2016.

Long Island Restaurant Week is presented by Long Island Restaurant & Hospitality Group, the business-to-consumer promotions division of WordHampton Public Relations. In its first year, total restaurant revenue from the eight-day event was estimated to be more than $2.84 million. Last year, revenue from the event grew to more than $5.62 million, according to its organizers.

A participant registration fee of $525 from each restaurant goes straight to advertising and promotion to help make it as successful as possible. Click here to find out which restaurants are participating in Long Island Restaurant Week.
