Local radio stations to host annual food drive in Brookhaven

With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, the JVC Broadcasting family of radio stations is once again hosting their annual food drive to support the Brookhaven INTERFACE program.

All six JVC Broadcasting radio stations will be collecting food donations on both days of this year’s event, Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Gala Foods, 257 Route 112 in Patchogue and Super Walmart, located at the Boulevard Shopping Center, 901 Boulevard East in Yaphank.

The INTERFACE program provides a variety of goods and services to those in need through food drives, coat drives, holiday donations, and many other ways. Over the years, the Town of Brookhaven has collaborated with over 150 businesses, schools, and hospitals to provide this assistance.

Some suggested non-perishable food items for donations include canned soups, canned cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, stuffing mix, instant potatoes, canned sweet or white potatoes, rice, canned vegetables, jar or canned sauce, macaroni, canned fruit, pudding and gelatin desserts, cookie mix, icing and juice. The purchase of gift cards to local supermarkets for turkeys is also accepted.
